Firm Foundation
Hello Everyone!..friends, family and future friends,
It is exciting to see our timber-frame barn free standing on its firm foundation! It was truly an awestruck moment to actually stand beneath this 100 plus year old hand hewn timber frame structure towering above its massive foundation.
The craftsmanship of this timber frame barn is something to behold.
Standing three stories tall, fit together with mortise and tenon and locked in place by wooden dowels, the craftsmanship of this timber frame barn is something to behold. When dreams take shape it simply is a humbling experience.
Barnwood Builders
The producers of the reality show Barnwood Builders said it best, “Home Is Where the Timber-Frame Heart Is”! Stone Manor’s timber-frame structure is so massive that it took the whole allotted one-week filming time to erect just the ‘Heart’ (center) of it! The show’s very own Sherman called it, and I quote, “Barndacious”! Now that just might become a new viral-trending word!😂
The Barnwood Builders crew returned the following week to finish erecting the final timbers on either side of the heart structure. There is one very important aspect about our barn’s ‘Heart’ and its relation to indoor barn ceremonies. Much time, thought and discussion was spent on ensuring this space would remain open to avoid blocking the view of the bride walking down the isle. It is important to Stone Manor that your guests enjoy the whole ceremony experience. Mark Bowe and his Barnwood Builders team used a lot of WV ingenuity in reconstructing the barn’s original frame to achieve this goal. We are immensely pleased and believe you will be too.
